Meet Chef Ramesh – The Heart Behind King of Spices
Hello everyone,
My name is Chef Ramesh, and cooking has been my passion and my life’s journey.
I began my culinary career in India in 1982, learning the authentic flavours, spices, and traditional cooking techniques that have been passed down through generations. In 1997, I moved to New Zealand, where I continued my passion for Indian cuisine, sharing the true taste of India with people from many different cultures.
After more than 40 years of experience, I was proud to open King of Spices in March 2024. My dream has always been simple—to serve authentic Indian food made with fresh ingredients, traditional recipes, and genuine care.
Every dish that leaves our kitchen reflects my commitment to quality, consistency, and hospitality. Whether you’re visiting us for the first time or you’re one of our regular guests, my team and I are dedicated to making every meal a memorable experience.
